Location: This role will initially have an orientation period in the Saskatoon office for 2-3 months with a transition to a site role on a 2 week rotation.

The Opportunity
As the Mechanical & Piping Lead, you will be a key member of the Project Team, from the procurement phases through construction and commissioning, your expertise will guide decisions that directly impact the success of one of the most exciting projects in the Athabasca Basin.
You’ll begin in Saskatoon for an integration period of roughly two months, working closely with engineering and construction teams to gain a deep understanding of project packages, schedules, and execution plans. Once construction ramps up, you’ll be the on-the-ground leader ensuring that designs translate into disciplined, safe, and coordinated execution.
This is a role for a seasoned professional who understands the realities of field construction, demanding both strategic thinking and on-the-ground action, ensuring every plan becomes a well-executed result.
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical & Piping Lead, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:
Technical Leadership & Execution
- Lead the mechanical and piping discipline through planning, procurement, and construction phases.
- Review designs and deliverables to ensure constructability, safety, and compliance with Denison and industry standards.
- Provide technical solutions to field challenges and manage responses to non-conformance reports.
- Ensure alignment with applicable codes and standards, including ASME, API, ASTM, and CSA.
Construction Planning & Delivery
- Manage detailed plans for mechanical and piping work scopes.
- Coordinate contractors, resources, and schedules to deliver safe and efficient field execution.
- Oversee surveillance and quality audits, ensuring all work meets design intent and technical specifications.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning readiness of mechanical and piping systems.
Collaboration & Integration
- Partner across engineering, procurement, health and safety, and project controls to maintain alignment and flow of information.
- Provide constructability insight and communicate design modifications or progress updates clearly.
- Build productive relationships with vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
Safety, Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
- Champion Denison’s culture of safety, integrity, and environmental stewardship.
- Mentor and guide field operations staff, reinforcing best practices and technical standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications
As a Mechanical & Piping Lead, you will possess the following qualities:
The Essentials (Hard Skills):
- 15+ years of progressive experience in mechanical and piping supervision and installation on major industrial or mining projects.
- Strong understanding of piping and mechanical codes, including ASME, API, and CSA.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple trades including mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil.
- Demonstrated understanding of full project lifecycles, from design through procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Proficiency in process piping and equipment installation.
- A P.Eng. designation is an asset, but superintendent or trades-based experience is equally valued.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and eligibility to work in Canada.
