Position Title: Civil Site Superintendent

Location: Athabasca Basin, SK | Camp Accommodation and Travel Allowance

Shift Schedule: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, 2 travel days

Our Client

PBN Construction is more than a construction company. Proudly Indigenous-owned, PBN has grown from a northern-focused operation into a diversified, Saskatchewan-based organization with a strong and expanding footprint across the province. From large-scale earthworks to complex, multi-million-dollar infrastructure and mining support projects, PBN is known for reliability, safety, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

Beyond traditional construction, PBN plays a critical role in supporting mining operations, delivering project management, site supervision, underground construction, maintenance, and heavy equipment operation. Their teams work where the action is: in high-performance, industrial environments that demand precision, safety, and teamwork.

At the core of PBN’s success is a culture rooted in accountability, continuous improvement, and pride in craftsmanship. If you’re a skilled trades professional who values safety, respects the work, and takes ownership of doing the job right, you’ll fit right in.

The Opportunity

Every successful construction project has a steady hand on site, someone who knows the scope, understands the schedule, leads the crew, and never compromises on safety.

As a Civil Site Superintendent with PBN Construction, you will be that leader. You won’t just oversee the work,  you’ll drive it. From pre-construction planning through project completion, you will coordinate crews, equipment, subcontractors, and materials to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with contract requirements.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and senior leadership, translating plans into action and strategy into results. You’ll mentor foremen, hold teams accountable, maintain productivity, and ensure that documentation and reporting are completed accurately and on time.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a boots-on-the-ground environment,  someone who understands that leadership on a construction site means being visible, decisive, safety-driven, and solutions-focused.

Key Responsibilities

As the Civil Site Superintendent, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

1. Project Planning & Execution

  • Support proposal development and project planning in collaboration with Project Managers and Operations leadership.
  • Identify and coordinate required labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain comprehensive understanding of contract requirements, drawings, specifications, scope of work, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Supervise PBN crews and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within scope.
  • Maintain redline and as-built drawings and report deviations for project turnover.
  • Assist in maintaining and optimizing the construction schedule, identifying efficiencies where possible.

2. Safety Leadership & Compliance

  • Ensure full adherence to OH&S regulations, company policies, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Identify site hazards and ensure appropriate PPE and mitigation measures are in place.
  • Participate in developing and improving Health & Safety programs, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Investigate and document incidents within area of responsibility.
  • Conduct and participate in site safety inspections and report findings to HSE leadership.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and materials are maintained in safe working condition.
  • Monitor fit-for-duty compliance and lead by example.

3. Team Leadership & Administration

  • Supervise, mentor, and support Foremen, Operators, and Labourers.
  • Maintain high levels of morale, productivity, and accountability across site teams.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of all required documentation, including:
  • Daily timecards
  • Safety toolbox talks and FLHAs
  • Equipment and vehicle inspections
  • LEMs (where applicable)
  • Daily project reports and safety inspections
  • Submit accurate daily reporting to clients, including labour and equipment tracking.
  • Code time and equipment for Time & Material change orders.
  • Support progressive discipline and performance reviews in collaboration with management.

4. Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Build trust with clients through consistent, transparent communication.
  • Liaise regularly with project stakeholders and PBN Management.
  • Ensure company processes are followed and documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Support business development efforts through strong on-site performance and relationship building.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in civil construction site supervision.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, productivity tracking, and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience supervising crews and subcontractors.
  • In-depth knowledge of OH&S regulations and site safety practices.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Experience managing time & material tracking and change orders.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
