The Opportunity  

As a driven Project Manager, you thrive at taking ownership of high-performing projects across multiple sectors including industrial, commercial, mining and energy. You are the connector, standing at the center of it all, aligning construction managers, foremen and superintendents. Naturally, you bring order to complexity, easily managing a mix of strategic planning with hands-on support, knowing exactly where each project is headed. 

Your ability to anticipate, plan, and resource ensures field teams work efficiently, with minimal variance between estimated and actual hours. The team knows they can rely on your support to keep execution on track. Throughout it all, your leadership makes projects flow smoother, teams become stronger and clients see you as a partner that always provides genuine support. 

 

Key Responsibilities  

As an Industrial Project Manager, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for: 

1. Project Planning & Coordination 

  • Lead project setup, including budgets, cost codes, documentation, and resource planning. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with clear milestones and critical path management. 
  • Facilitate pre-job planning with field leadership to ensure readiness and alignment. 
  • Oversee procurement to ensure materials and sub-trades are secured in line with project needs. 

2. Financial Management 

  • Own project budgets and profitability, tracking costs and preparing forecasts. 
  • Track and document change orders, delays, and scope adjustments in real-time. 
  • Collaborate with accounting and operations to oversee WIP, AR, and invoicing cycles. 
  • Proactively Identify financial risks early and recommend mitigation strategies. 

3. Client & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring regular check-ins and proactive updates to manage expectations.  
  • Manage the client feedback process, addressing issues and capturing lessons learned. 
  • Foster long-term client relationships through reliability, responsiveness, and value delivery. 

4. Execution & Delivery Support 

  • Partner with Construction Managers to ensure sites are set up for success.  
  • Support field teams with coordination, RFI responses, resourcing, and schedule updates. 
  • Oversee safety, quality, and compliance in project plans, while staying connected through site visits and hands-on involvement.  
  • Maintain contracts, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation to standards.  
  • Lead project close-out, capturing and applying lessons learned to future projects. 


Qualifications  

As an Industrial Project Manager, you will possess the following qualities: 

The Essentials (Hard Skills): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, electrical engineering, a Journeyperson certificate in electrical or a related field. 
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in industrial, commercial, mining, energy, or heavy infrastructure environments. 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is required.   
  • Demonstrated success in managing full project lifecycle. 
  • Strong financial acumen with proven experience in building, managing, and forecasting budgets, tracking costs, and driving project profitability. 
  • Proficiency in project scheduling software and project control tools.  
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, quality assurance and control, and regulatory compliance within construction and industrial environments.
