Position Title: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Employment Type: This is a contract position with a duration of 13 weeks. 

Shift: Night Shift– with option for day/night rotation available.

Self-scheduling supported: nurses enter schedule requests in advance before the final rotation is posted.

The Opportunity  

This 13-week contract provides experienced Progressive Care nurses with the chance to contribute within one of the nation’s leading academic hospitals. In a high-acuity PCU setting, you’ll deliver advanced patient care while collaborating with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. An exceptional opportunity for PCU nurses eager to advance their skills within a top-ranked teaching hospital.

 

Key Responsibilities  

As a Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
  • Maintain an average patient ratio of approximately 1 nurse to 5 patients.
  • Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Document all patient assessments and interventions within the EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, allied health staff, and unit leadership to achieve optimal patient outcomes.


Qualifications  

As a Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit, you will possess the following qualities:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum 2 years of Progressive Care (PCU) nursing experience in an acute care environment.
  • Current ACLS and BCLS certifications required; additional advanced certifications are advantageous.
  • Skilled in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and clinical assessment.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in patient assessment, monitoring, and intervention within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in EPIC electronic medical record systems and comfortable navigating digital documentation workflows.
  • Previous travel nursing experience considered a strong asset.
