The Opportunity

Behind every successful mechanical project is a team that ensures every detail is executed with precision. As a Project Manager within the Mechanical Division, you are a central connector between sales, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.

 

This role blends technical understanding, coordination, and customer service. You support the division manager and outside sales representatives by managing tenders, preparing quotations, overseeing project execution, and ensuring equipment is delivered accurately and on time. From monitoring construction association opportunities to preparing submittals and issuing purchase orders, you play a hands-on role throughout the full lifecycle of a project.

Key Responsibilities

As the Project Manager – Mechanical Division, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

1. Customer Service & Sales Support

  • Provide accurate and timely service to customers.
  • Support outside sales representatives both in and out of the office.
  • Answer incoming customer calls and respond to emails.
  • Assist walk-in and cash customers as required.
  • Participate in divisional meetings and support customer events when needed.

 

2. Tendering, Take-Offs & Quotation Preparation

  • Monitor Construction Association of Saskatchewan (CASK) projects, and identify relevant tenders, and enter project information into our ERP system.
  • Manage project tracking and enter project information into internal sales management systems.
  • Coordinate and complete take-offs in collaboration with the project management team.
  • Price assigned take-offs, including bid & spec, design-build, and small daily projects.
  • Prepare final quotations and review with the Division Manager and/or assigned sales team prior to submission.


3. Project Management & Execution

  • Prepare and manage equipment submittal drawing packages for assigned projects.
  • Oversee full project management responsibilities from award through completion.
  • Issue purchase orders to manufacturers and release equipment for production.
  • Visit job sites when required to resolve project-related issues.
  • Ensure projects are executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with customer expectations.

 

4. Technical Development & Collaboration

  • Interpret and review construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proactively self-educate through training, reading, and supplier sessions.
  • Attend supplier-supported training sessions (in-house or at supplier facilities; occasional travel may be required).
  • Collaborate with other project managers to balance workload and ensure all division deadlines are met.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Division Manager or sales team.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

The Essentials (Hard Skills):

  • Minimum 1 year of sales or consulting experience; 3+ years preferred.
  • EIT, P.Eng., C.E.T., or M.E.T. designation required.
  • Strong understanding of how to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience or familiarity with HVAC mechanical equipment is considered an asset.
  • Experience with tendering, take-offs, and project coordination within a construction environment is preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
