Hughes Collective is pleased to present an exciting opportunity on behalf of our client.
Role: C-Store Manager
Location: Moosomin, SK
Reporting to: Director of Operations
Our Client
Our client is a long-standing co-operative operating across southeastern Saskatchewan. What began as a small local operation has grown into a multi-division retail organization with locations supporting agriculture, fuel, food, and home and building supplies.
Their locations are part of the daily rhythm of the communities around them. Farmers stop in before heading to the field, families fuel up on their way through town, and regular customers know the staff behind the counter by name.
Across the organization you will find experienced teams and leaders who run their locations with clear expectations and strong operational standards. Many employees have been with the co-operative for years, creating an environment where knowledge is shared, new staff are supported, and people understand the importance of the work they do in their communities.
The Opportunity
As the C-Store Manager, you will lead the daily operation of a busy convenience and fuel location that includes retail, pumps, and a car wash. The store is an active part of the community and requires a manager who can keep the operation organized, well presented, and performing strongly each day.
In this role, you will lead the team responsible for store operations while monitoring the financial performance of the location and maintaining the standards expected across the entire operation. Much of your time will be spent on the floor working alongside staff, supporting the team, addressing issues as they arise, and ensuring customers receive efficient and professional service.
This position calls for a leader who understands the pace of retail and stays engaged with the details of the operation. The right person will keep the team focused, maintain strong store standards, and ensure the location operates at a high level day after day.
Key Responsibilities
As the C-Store Manager you will work collaboratively and are responsible for:

- Coordinate with internal teams to execute local promotions and marketing initiatives that support traffic and sales.
- Ensure inventory levels are maintained appropriately and ordering schedules are followed to meet customer demand.
2. Financial Performance
- Manage store performance across key metrics including sales, margins, inventory, and operating expenses.
- Review operating statements and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial results.
- Ensure accurate inventory management, transfers, markdowns, and receiving processes are completed according to company policy.
- Support initiatives that contribute to achieving store targets and overall organizational performance.
3. Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership to a team of store employees by supporting recruitment, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Establish clear expectations for daily responsibilities while ensuring employees understand service standards and operational procedures.
- Provide coaching and feedback that supports employee development and strengthens overall team performance.
- Promote a positive work environment where team members take pride in their work and contribute to the overall success of the location.
4. Customer Experience
- Ensure customers are welcomed in a friendly, professional manner and receive efficient service throughout their visit.
- Address customer concerns or inquiries promptly while maintaining a positive experience.
- Support a store environment that encourages repeat visits and builds trust with customers in the surrounding community.
