Responsibilities
● Conduct thorough evaluations and diagnostic assessments to determine cancer diagnoses and stages.
● Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on cancer type, stage, and patient health status.
● Coordinate and oversee chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other cancer treatments.
● Monitor patient responses to treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes and manage side effects.
● Provide supportive care and symptom management to improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
● Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and oncology nurses, to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
● Participate in clinical research, trials, and academic activities to contribute to advancements in oncology care.
● Educate patients and their families about cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and supportive care resources.
● Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
● Stay informed about the latest developments in oncology through continuing medical education and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
● Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
● Completion of residency training in Oncology.
● Board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology or Hematology-Oncology.
● Proven experience as an Oncologist, preferably in a hospital or cancer center setting.
● Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices in oncology.
● Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
