Confidential Opportunity: VP, Global Procurement

Fast-Growing Global Apparel & Retail Group

Some procurement roles are about keeping the lights on.

This one is about building the engine.

We’re conducting a confidential retained search on behalf of a high-growth, globally expanding apparel and retail business looking to appoint a Vice President, Global Procurement.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior leadership role at a company with serious momentum, global complexity, and the kind of ambition that requires a procurement leader who can do more than negotiate cost. They need someone who can help shape the future of the business.

If you know how to build global supplier strategy, lead with commercial sharpness, navigate complexity, and create real operational leverage across a growing consumer brand, this one is worth a conversation.

The Opportunity

This executive will lead the company’s global procurement and strategic sourcing function, helping drive the next phase of scale across a complex international supply network.

The mandate is broad and high impact:

  • Build and elevate global procurement strategy
  • Strengthen supplier relationships and sourcing capabilities
  • Improve cost, speed, quality, and resilience across the network
  • Partner closely with cross-functional leaders across supply chain, operations, product, finance, planning, and leadership
  • Help create a procurement function that is not just reactive, but genuinely strategic

This is a business in motion. Growth is happening. Markets are expanding. Expectations are high. The right leader will thrive in that kind of environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Global Procurement Strategy

  • Lead the end-to-end global procurement and sourcing strategy across key spend categories
  • Develop a scalable procurement roadmap aligned with the company’s growth trajectory
  • Identify opportunities to optimize supplier footprint, commercial structure, and sourcing strategy across regions

Supplier & Vendor Leadership

  • Build, strengthen, and rationalize relationships with global vendors, manufacturers, and strategic partners
  • Lead contract negotiations and commercial agreements with a focus on value creation, service, quality, and long-term partnership
  • Ensure the business is working with the right suppliers in the right places for the right reasons

Cost, Margin & Commercial Performance

  • Drive procurement excellence across cost management, savings, margin improvement, and total value creation
  • Partner with finance and operations to improve visibility, planning, and commercial discipline
  • Bring a sharp lens to cost without compromising speed, quality, or brand standards

Risk, Resilience & Scale

  • Build a procurement organization and supply base that can support rapid growth without becoming fragile
  • Improve supplier diversification, continuity planning, and sourcing resilience across global markets
  • Help the business make smarter decisions in an increasingly unpredictable world

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team
  • Operate as a strategic business partner to executive leadership
  • Collaborate closely across planning, merchandising, operations, logistics, product, legal, and finance
  • Bring maturity, structure, and pace to a fast-moving environment

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, globally minded procurement leader who knows how to operate at both 30,000 feet and in the weeds.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Significant progressive leadership experience across global procurement, sourcing, vendor management, or supply chain
  • Strong experience within apparel, fashion, retail, consumer goods, footwear, accessories, or adjacent consumer categories
  • Proven ability to lead procurement strategy across international supplier networks
  • Deep experience negotiating with global suppliers and managing complex vendor ecosystems
  • A track record of improving cost, building resilience, and helping businesses scale intelligently
  • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence across multiple functions and geographies
  • Experience building teams, leading change, and operating in high-growth or transformation environments

What Will Make Someone Stand Out

The strongest candidates will likely have a blend of:

  • Global sourcing and supplier strategy experience
  • Consumer brand or retail complexity
  • Commercial toughness without bureaucracy
  • A builder’s mindset
  • The ability to move fast without making sloppy decisions

This is not a role for someone who wants to maintain a legacy process.

This is for someone who wants to build something meaningful, modern, and global.

Why This Role Is Interesting

Because very few procurement leadership roles actually let you shape the business.

This one does.

You’ll have the chance to:

  • Influence strategy at a senior level
  • Build real infrastructure for growth
  • Help create a smarter, stronger, more resilient global supply base
  • Leave a visible fingerprint on a business with serious runway

For the right person, this is one of those roles that can define the next chapter of a career.

Compensation

A highly competitive executive compensation package will be offered, aligned to the level and scope of the opportunity.

Confidential Search Process

This search is being conducted on a strictly confidential basis.

Further details on the company, structure, and leadership team will be shared with shortlisted candidates during the process.

If this sounds like the kind of role you’d want to explore, we’d welcome a discreet conversation.
