Lean Six Search is partnered with a national food manufacturing company in their search for an Operational Technology systems Engineer.

In this role you will be managing automation systems across multiple food manufacturing plants and distribution centers.

The ideal candidate will need to know their way around ERP and WMS plant floor systems with a strong understanding of automation.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day performance and reliability of all plant automation and OT environments
  • Deep familiarity with industrial systems (PLCs, SCADA, MES, DCS) and how they interact with ERP/WMS platforms
  • Plug into cross-site initiatives that impact systems scalability and process improvement
  • Implement upgrades and enhancements to automation systems as needed.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on automation, ERP, and WMS systems.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Track and test emerging tools and trends in the OT/automation world—and advise where we should go next
  • Participate in planning and implementing projects related to system enhancements and expansions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field desired. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • 2-5 years experience in a similar role, within a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Expertise in managing automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and MES.
  • Proven success supporting or administering enterprise systems (think Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or equivalents)
  • Strong analytical mindset able to diagnose complex problems, not just patch them
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel between facilities when boots-on-the-ground support is needed
