Ready to Launch Your Career as a Graduate Accountant on the Gold Coast?

This is a full-time opportunity commencing January 2026 for a motivated, detail-driven accounting graduate ready to build strong technical foundations inside a stable, high-performing public practice.

If you’re looking for real training, long-term mentorship, and a firm where people genuinely build careers, not just clock time, this role is designed to set you up properly from day one.

You’ll be joining a trusted Gold Coast–based tax accounting firm with a strong reputation for accuracy, strategic thinking, and long-term client relationships. The firm works closely with individuals, small businesses, and growing enterprises, providing tailored tax planning, compliance, and advisory services that help clients navigate complexity with confidence.

The practice is known for doing things properly. Precision, efficiency, and clear advice sit at the centre of how the firm operates, ensuring clients remain fully compliant while maximising their financial position. Internally, the same standards apply, with structured processes, disciplined workflows, and a strong focus on developing people who want to grow with the business.

This role has been created to bring in a graduate accountant at the ground level, someone the firm can train, mentor, and develop into a high-performing practitioner over time. Rather than retraining poor habits, the firm prefers to shape capability from the start, with hands-on exposure to real client work and direct access to experienced accountants.

You’ll work closely with senior team members across tax and compliance, build strong technical fundamentals, and gain practical experience in a firm that values quality, accountability, and long-term thinking.

Based in Varsity Lakes, this role offers career certainty, genuine development, and the lifestyle balance the Gold Coast is known for.

Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, and BAS.

• Supporting senior accountants across tax compliance and advisory engagements.

• Preparing reconciliations, working papers, and supporting documentation.

• Maintaining accurate client files and accounting records.

• Assisting with ATO correspondence and lodgements.

• Learning and applying Australian accounting and taxation standards.

• Using accounting software and internal systems accurately and efficiently.

• Managing deadlines and priorities with guidance from senior staff.

• Developing strong technical fundamentals through hands-on work and structured mentoring.

What You’ll Bring to the Role:

• A completed or near-completed degree in Accounting or Commerce.

• A genuine interest in building a long-term career in public practice and taxation.

• Strong attention to detail and a disciplined, methodical approach to work.

• Clear communication skills and a professional, client-focused attitude.

• The ability to learn quickly, take feedback, and apply it consistently.

• Good organisational skills and personal accountability.

• A positive, proactive mindset and willingness to contribute to the team.

What’s in It for You:

• Salary circa $60,000 – $65,000 plus super, aligned with graduate level.

• Performance-based bonuses as capability and responsibility grow.

• Direct training and mentorship from experienced tax accountants.

• Extremely low staff turnover and a stable, supportive team environment.

• Flexible working arrangements when required.

• Laptop provided, with the ability to work from home as needed.

• Clear long-term career progression within the firm.

• Office based in Varsity Lakes, easily accessible and well located.
