This full-time, permanent role is ideal for an experienced Pre-Construction Planner & Designer looking to take the next step with our client, a respected national construction company renowned for delivering exceptional commercial and residential projects.


With steady growth and a strong pipeline of work, our client is expanding their pre-construction capabilities and seeking a technically minded professional who understands how to build a project from the ground up and can translate that knowledge into clear, precise documentation and planning.


Based in Toowoomba, this role offers the opportunity to blend design, methodology, and strategy—shaping how complex projects are planned and executed long before construction begins.


Here’s What You’ll Be Doing:


  • Developing comprehensive project plans with clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Estimating resources, equipment, and timelines to ensure accurate pre-construction planning.
  • Collaborating with estimators, design managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure accuracy and consistency across all documentation.
  • Using data and insights from previous builds to inform planning efficiency and methodology.
  • Creating detailed site establishment documentation, including plant and equipment requirements.
  • Developing construction programs using MS Project, ensuring sequencing and scheduling accuracy.
  • Producing written methodologies and documentation to communicate construction and value management concepts.
  • Supporting bid and tender development through clear, detailed pre-construction planning.


What You’ll Bring to the Role:


  • Previous experience as a Builder, Project Manager, Contract Administrator, or Site Manager (highly regarded).
  • Building design experience with proficiency in SketchUp, CAD, or Revit (highly regarded).
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain construction programs using MS Project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving capability.
  • Knowledge of current construction techniques, methodologies, and market conditions.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team while taking initiative when working independently.
  • A practical, down-to-earth, and professional approach to your work.
  • Willingness to continue learning, training and support are available for software or technical development.
