An established and successful manufacturing company based in West Central Edinburgh is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join their hardworking and motivated team. This new role, created due to business growth, offers an exciting opportunity to develop hands-on experience in manufacturing and production while contributing to innovative projects such as New Product Introduction (NPI), Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CI), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Key responsibilities as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer:

Health and Safety: Support and prioritise health and safety improvements across manufacturing processes.

Documentation Management: Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, risk assessments, and AutoCAD drawings.

Process Improvements: Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing processes using Lean Principles.

Project Support: Assist with New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and the integration of new machinery and equipment.

Technical Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve production issues using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Graduate Mechanical Engineer requirements and qualifications:

Educational Background: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience: 0–3 years of post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment. Recently graduated applicants will be considered.

Methodology Knowledge: Familiarity with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt training provided).

Analytical and Technical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in IT systems such as Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.

Teamwork and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.

Personal Drive: Motivated, resourceful, and capable of managing tasks independently.

Working Hours:
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, totalling 36.5 hours per week. ( 8am to 4.15pm M-T and early finish on a Friday.
