Bilingual Paralegal - Family Law Specialist

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bilingual paralegal specializing in family law to join a dynamic, growing legal team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and Spanish possess comprehensive knowledge of family law procedures and demonstrate proficiency in supporting attorneys in all aspects of family law cases.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

 

- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and trial binders related to family law matters.

- Conduct legal research on statutes, case law, and regulations relevant to family law cases.

- Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and other parties involved in family law proceedings.

- Coordinate case management activities, including scheduling appointments, court appearances, and depositions.

- Draft correspondence, including letters, emails, and memos, on behalf of attorneys regarding case updates and client communication.

- Maintain organized case files, ensuring all relevant documents and correspondence are accurately recorded and accessible.

- Assist with the preparation of discovery requests and responses, including document production and interrogatories.

- Collaborate with attorneys to prepare for hearings, trials, and mediation sessions, including compiling exhibits and witness lists.

- Provide interpretation and translation services as needed for clients and attorneys during meetings, hearings, and other legal proceedings.

 

 

What You Need for this Position:

 

- Certificate in Paralegal Studies.

- Certification as a paralegal/legal assistant or equivalent work experience.

- Fluency in English and Spanish required.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a paralegal, with a focus on family law.

- Thorough understanding of family law procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.

- Proficiency in legal research and document drafting using relevant software applications.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and positive attitude.
