WTR Search Renewables is looking for a Traveling Gearbox Field Service Technician to lead gearbox services, repair, and inspections onsite for a variety of customers across the US. This is a full-time, direct-hire position that requires the ability to communicate well with customers and work independently. 

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair OEM parts and gearbox components
• Perform Borescope field inspections
• Lead gearbox and related equipment installation
• Maintain tools and company equipment to ensure reliability and safety
• Maintain an enthusiastic dedication to customer service and satisfaction
• Develop positive relationships with teams and management onsite with strong communication and responsiveness
• Maintain all documentation and reporting as required
• Follow all safety guidelines and set an example of safe working habits at all times
• Stay aware of and adhere to all Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment Programs

Requirements

• Must have a strong mechanical aptitude, be self-directed, and trustworthy
• Must possess good leadership and communication skills
• Must have climbed wind turbines and have at least 2 years of experience as a traveling wind technician 
• Preferred to have at least 2 years of gearbox repair experience (including IMS, HSS, and other repairs)
• Experience working on the Winergy Gearbox is a plus
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds, climb vertical ladders, and work at heights of 300 feet
• Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments and adverse and extreme weather conditions
• Have a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and the ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
