We are seeking a Senior Manager of Life Insurance Claims Operations to lead and evolve a high-performing claims organization supporting complex life insurance products at scale. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across end-to-end claims processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, elevating customer outcomes, and leading transformational initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and turnaround times. The ideal leader brings deep life insurance claims expertise, a data-driven mindset, and a proven ability to lead large, distributed teams through change in a highly regulated environment.

You Will:

  • Lead process improvement initiatives and manage daily operations, focusing on achieving efficiency and compliance.
  • Supervise and mentor a multi-operation team (200+ employees) consisting of managers, senior analysts, and analysts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and streamline business processes.
  • Analyze data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that the team meets or exceeds performance targets and quality standards.
  • Participate in budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Report regularly on process performance and improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic process-related plans.
  • Work from Home, supporting clients with working hours of 8 am to 5 pm Central Time
  • Travel occasionally (i.e., once a month) within the US.

 

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree in a relevant field a plus
  • 12+ years of relevant work experience in the individual life insurance industry, with a minimum of 3+ years in a similar role and a proven track record of implementing new processes to optimize individual life claims processing (i.e., automation, AI/ML, etc.)
  • Professional work experience with at least 2-3 Life insurance companies or TPA/BPO service providers
  • Proven experience in Individual Life Insurance business process transactions with two or more large carriers or TPAs (Northwestern Mutual, Prudential Life, NTT Data, EXL, etc.)
  • Proficiencies in business process management and optimization
  • A passion for continuous learning, staying abreast of industry knowledge, technology, etc., and a history of contributing to industry thought leadership (tradeshows, industry associations, etc.)
  • The ability to work for any US-based employer (i.e., a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder)
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) or significant relevant work experience are a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with executive industry stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment based in the Nashville area.
