Apply for this job

We are seeking a Director of FP&A with a strong background in the SaaS space for a rapidly growing client in the Nashville, TN area.

We are looking for a visionary finance leader with a proven track record of transforming complex financial data into strategic growth insights, who seeks to bring deep expertise in hybrid SaaS and transactional business models to a high-impact FP&A leadership role.

Known for building rigorous financial frameworks that clarify unit economics, cohort behavior, and take rates, you thrive at the intersection of recurring-revenue dynamics and marketplace commerce - turning nuanced data into boardroom-ready narratives that shape investment decisions and long-term strategy. If you have a passion for partnering with executive and board-level stakeholders, and are ready to own the financial planning function end-to-end to guide a high-growth, relationship-driven platform through its next phase of scalable expansion, this could be the role for you.

You Want:

  • A leadership opportunity to shape financial strategy at a rapidly growing company.
  • Direct influence over company performance, strategic direction, and long-term scalability.
  • A collaborative culture that values insight, accountability, and innovation.
  • A fast-moving environment where your work has immediate, measurable impact.
  • Ownership over how the company tells its financial story to its board, its investors, and its future.

You Will:

As Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), you’ll take ownership of our client’s financial strategy and:

  • Lead and maintain an integrated financial model that balances predictable Subscription Revenue (ARR) with variable Transactional Gross Profit.
  • Analyze unit economics and transaction “spread,” monitor gross margins across categories such as Coffee, Dining, and Experiences, and optimize take rates to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Track cohort behavior and wallet share, identifying how user frequency and transaction patterns influence subscription retention.
  • Lead forecasting for seasonal peaks, including Q4 and EOFY, partnering with Operations and Partnerships to ensure marketplace readiness for transaction volume spikes.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to Sales and Product, advising on which Teams and Plans drive the strongest profitability across both license fees and transaction volume.
  • Develop board and investor reporting that clearly articulates their SaaS-enabled commerce model and long-term competitive advantage.

You Have:

  • Hybrid Finance Background: 8+ years of finance experience, ideally in Fintech, Marketplaces, or E-commerce, with comfort in revenue models that fluctuate based on usage.
  • SaaS Fluency: Strong understanding of LTV/CAC, Magic Numbers, and Net Retention, with the ability to adapt these metrics to hybrid subscription and transactional models.
  • Data-Driven Operator: Experience working directly with data using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools to analyze high-volume transaction environments.
  • Margin-Focused Leader: Experience managing complex COGS structures involving third-party vendors and integrations, with a deep understanding of contribution margin dynamics.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid work environment and being in their Nashville office four times/week.
  • The ability to successfully complete a credit check, background check & drug test as a condition of employment.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. for any employer, as sponsorship is not available for this role.
