A nationwide disability and veterans advocacy organization is hiring a Data Engineer / Analytics Lead to shape how data drives decisions for thousands of Americans navigating complex federal benefits systems. ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Our client is the parent company of two nationwide advocacy organizations. They help thousands of disabled Americans each year win their Social Security disability insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) disability claims.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Analyze historical SSDI and VA disability case data to identify predictors of successful claims.
  • Build predictive models to support intake and client screening decisions.
  • Develop backlog and portfolio valuation models to forecast case outcomes and long-term value.
  • Improve data quality, governance, and analytics readiness across the organization.
  • Design executive dashboards and actionable reports for leadership and operations teams.
  • Ensure ethical, compliant use of sensitive medical, vocational, and personal data.


WHAT YOU BRING

  • 5+ years of applied data science experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or R, with solid SQL and database experience.
  • Ability to translate complex analytics into clear, actionable business decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with legal, operations, and executive teams.
  • Eligibility to work in the US for any employer (sponsorship is not available).


BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, legal services, or government program analytics.
  • Familiarity with SSDI or VA benefits systems and federal disability programs.
  • Background in forecasting long-cycle workflows or claims-based outcomes.
