Product Manager

Essential functions and responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact to understand the needs of both internal and external stakeholders, particularly challenging clients.
- Effectively communicate the product vision, milestones, and deliverables to technical teams, fostering strong relationships.
- Create buy-in for the client’s product vision both internally and with key external partners to ensure the best solutions are being designed and implemented.
- Manage client expectations on roadmap priorities and phasing of solutions being delivered.
Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and refine client product and solution visions and strategy in collaboration with Client Delivery, Architecture, Data Science and Engineering teams.
- Identify and fill product gaps, generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience, reduce operational costs and drive growth for NLP Logix clients.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to help facilitate and manage roadmapping sessions for potential clients.
Requirements and Development:
- Elicit and document clear and comprehensive product requirements from stakeholders.
- Translate complex business needs into actionable development tasks, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Work closely with the development team to define the scope of each feature or user story and ensure alignment with technical design needs.
Backlog and Prioritization:
- Maintain an ordered backlog of prioritized items for the next sprint.
- Actively participate in refinement sessions to break down initiatives into epics and features into user stories.
- Scope and prioritize development activities and customer requirements based on business and customer impact.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Partner with QA to ensure all defects are prioritized into appropriate releases.
- Assist with the delivery and coordination of user acceptance testing with the client and client SMEs where applicable.
Market and Customer Insight:
- Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, business needs, and problems across multiple industries.
- Stay informed about AI/ML best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends to ensure our solutions remain competitive.
Risk Management and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify potential risks and challenges associated with complex clients and develop mitigation strategies.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing project outcomes, gathering feedback, and implementing process enhancements.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and collaborate with developers, designers, testers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
- Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and teamwork with all project team members.
- Deliver high-level presentations to audiences ranging from executives to system end users.
- Serve as the business process subject matter expert throughout implementation life cycle.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience within Product Management and agile software development methodology.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong background in dealing with challenging clients and navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
- Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Working knowledge of SaaS implementation.
- Experience with agile tools like JIRA or ADO.
- Experience with writing user stories and acceptance criteria (Given, When, Then).
- Actively contributes to product knowledge through self-study, meeting attendance, team trainings, and project participation.
- Serve as the business process subject matter expert throughout implementation life cycle.
