Art Director (Design-First / Individual Contributor)


Location: Hybrid – Greater Los Angeles Area (Culver City / El Segundo)

Reports to: VP, Creative

📌 The Opportunity

Our recruiting agency is representing a design-led, high-growth consumer brand that is currently reimagining a traditionally overlooked industry. We are seeking a design-trained, "hands-on" Art Director who is as comfortable pushing pixels as they are iterating on campaign directions.

This is a role for a creative who is deeply plugged into culture, obsessed with the details, and ready to refine a clean, elevated visual identity for a brand built on purpose and community.


📌 The Role: The Elite "Doer"

This is a hands-on, execution-focused position within a small, highly collaborative team. We are looking for a powerhouse designer who has transitioned into Art Direction—someone whose foundation is built on elite layout, typography, and visual ideation.

While you will partner closely with the VP of Creative to shape the visual direction, you thrive as an Individual Contributor who prefers the creative craft over people management. You will be the primary driver of the brand's aesthetic across digital, physical, and social touchpoints, ensuring every interaction feels as good as it looks.


Note: This is a design-centric role. You will be the lead "hand" in the files, directly contributing to high-quality graphic design across:

  • Digital: Website, email, CRM, and social.
  • Physical: Packaging, product design, and retail/wholesale environments.
  • Production: Supporting 5–6 local SoCal shoots per quarter.


📌 Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign & Brand Execution: Lead the ideation and visual execution of integrated marketing campaigns, product launches, and brand moments.
  • Hands-on Design: Personally create visually compelling assets for all core digital channels (web, social, paid media) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Vision Translation: Partner with leadership to translate high-level creative vision into polished, on-brand digital outputs and seasonal photography systems.
  • Systems & Craft: Build and maintain design documentation and templates to ensure a high bar for craft and consistency across all channels.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with web, product, and external partners to ensure design solutions meet both creative and business goals.


📌 Requirements & Skills

  • Experience: 7+ years in digital design, art direction, or brand creative (in-house or agency experience).
  • Design Fundamentals: An exceptional eye for layout, typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
  • Individual Contributor Mindset: You are looking for a role focused on creative excellence where you are responsible for your own output, rather than managing a team.
  • Execution Power: Highly hands-on; you are the primary "doer" in the design files and take pride in the final polish of every asset.
  • Communication: Confident presenter able to articulate visual decisions clearly and persuasively.



Location: Must be able to work a hybrid schedule in the Los Angeles area and support local shoots.

Salary Range: $120 - $135k us + Benefits + unlimited PTO
