Executive Creative Director

Location: Dallas, TX

Type: FT, Hybrid


The ECD reports to the President/CCO and is the person who will lead our creative vision and inspire the team to consistently produce work that challenges conventional thinking. This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping the creative culture, driving innovative thinking and campaigns, and ensuring every piece of work meets high standards.


Key Responsibilities


Creative Leadership

  • Set and champion the creative vision and strategy across all agency accounts
  • Lead the creative department in developing breakthrough work across all channels—branding, advertising, digital, social media, and content creation
  • Act as the final creative authority, ensuring all work is strategically sound, creatively excellent, and brand-appropriate
  • Push the team to challenge industry norms and develop ideas that make clients stand out and competitors envious.
  • Insist and ensure quality, thoroughness, and attention to detail in everything the department does.


Team Development

  • Inspire, mentor, and manage creative teams to do their best work
  • Foster a collaborative culture where great ideas and thinking can thrive
  • Recruit and develop top creative talent
  • Provide constructive feedback and guide professional growth across the department


Client Partnership

  • Present and sell creative ideas and concepts to clients with confidence and clarity
  • Build strong relationships with client stakeholders at the executive level
  • Translate business objectives into compelling creative strategies
  • Ensure creative work delivers on client goals and objectives


Internal Collaboration

  • Partner with account management, strategy, media, and production teams to deliver integrated campaigns that exceed client expectations
  • Participate in new business pitches and agency growth initiatives
  • Contribute to agency-wide strategic planning and decision-making
  • Represent the agency at industry events and in the creative community


Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in advertising or creative services, with at least 5 years in a senior creative leadership role
  • Proven track record of creating award-winning, results-driven campaigns across multiple channels
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking and creative excellence
  • Experience leading and developing creative teams
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of branding, advertising, digital marketing, and emerging platforms
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Agency experience, particularly with small to mid-sized shops
  • Experience with diverse industries and client types
  • Track record of work that wins new business
  • Recognition from industry award shows (One Show, Cannes, CA, ADDYs, etc.)
  • Active involvement in the advertising community
