Role: Director of Strategy

Client: Advertising Agency

Location: Dallas, TX

Type: FT, Hybrid in person (Tuesday - Thursday)

Summary:

This is a key role for a lead strategist at a smaller agency that places a strong emphasis on strategy. The ideal candidate will be a versatile "Swiss Army knife" — skilled in research, fueling creative work with insights and inspiration, and adept at spontaneous strategic problem-solving.

This person should excel at working collaboratively within a team while also leading senior clients. A mix of brand strategist and communications planner, they must understand how to drive engagement and leverage data across digital channels, including social platforms. This role is critical to both the agency’s leadership and its business development efforts.

We’re seeking a strategic leader to:

  • Provide insightful briefs to the creative team and ensure work stays aligned with strategy.
  • Collaborate with Account Management to prioritize strategic focus for each project.
  • Build strong client relationships, using data and insights to drive results.
  • Ensure all consumer touchpoints are rooted in strategy and insights.
  • Analyze industry trends and data to develop effective advertising strategies.
  • Conduct or commission research to inform strategies and stay current with trends.
  • Develop innovative engagement strategies and monitor campaign performance.
  • Drive growth by expanding strategy projects and supporting new business development.
  • Lead the creation of content and presentations for new business pitches.

As a senior leader, your responsibilities include:

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive threats, and business opportunities to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Advise the CEO on market and product development opportunities.
  • Delivering on commitments and driving agency success.
  • Contributing to the agency's growth and leadership beyond your role.
