Finance Business Partner – Newly Created Role

Up to £65,000 + benefits | Full-time | Permanent | Birmingham (Hybrid)


OVERVIEW

We’re working with a growing, Birmingham-based service business to appoint a Finance Business Partner into a newly created and strategically important role. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a high-impact opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to partner with both operational and strategic teams across a broad B2B and B2C customer base.

OPPORTUNITY

This is a newly created Finance Business Partner role designed to strengthen the link between finance and the wider business. You’ll provide data-driven insight, financial challenge, and business partnering across commercial, operational and leadership teams. You’ll play a key role in bringing financial information to life and helping the business make smarter, faster decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Business partnering with commercial and operational teams to influence decisions and improve performance
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning cycles
  • Producing and interpreting KPIs, margin reports, and performance dashboards
  • Leading monthly reviews with budget holders, challenging assumptions and identifying risks/opportunities
  • Preparing insightful financial analysis to support pricing, investment, and strategic decisions
  • Working with the FC to improve reporting processes and drive better visibility of performance
  • Supporting project appraisals, business cases and ad hoc commercial modelling


PERSON

As the successful Finance Business Partner, you’ll likely be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with strong communication skills and a commercial mindset. You’ll enjoy digging into data, understanding what drives performance, and explaining it in a way that gets attention and action.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Experience working in a service-based or customer-centric business
  • Excellent communication and business partnering ability
  • A commercial approach with a focus on adding value, not just reporting numbers
  • Experience improving reporting and planning processes
  • Energy, curiosity, and the drive to take ownership in a new role
