Senior Program Director | 12-month contract | Orlando, Florida | On-site 5 days a week


Leads complex projects or programs to provide the information technology required to meet the company's strategic objectives. Programs may span multiple projects and multiple IT disciplines and are often dependent on internal and 3rd party resources to meet the business objective. Oversee the work of other PMs as well as manage projects that are critical to our portfolio (as needed). 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Drives change management efforts to increase acceptance of project improvement initiatives.      
  • Oversees all aspects of program/project management including requirements gathering, work planning, communications, issue resolution, project estimation, expense tracking, financial reporting, and change management. 
  • Manages programs to ensure key program benefits are realized, analyzes project risks, issues, and constraints, assesses options to mitigate risks and resolve issues within a constrained project environment, recommends and gains consensus of stakeholders while taking corrective actions to optimize program delivery.
  • Develops resourcing strategies, works with vendors/3rd parties to facilitate project delivery, and allocates staff and support necessary for cost-effective, quality project management and process improvement efforts. 
  • Manages the deliverables, and efforts of multiple third parties, coordinating the delivery of the deliverables and efforts of the internal staff to integrate technologies and processes for critical projects with aggressive delivery schedules.
  • Manages the financial aspects of the assigned programs, tracking internal and 3rd party costs to the budget.
  • Manages larger business processes and/or projects, setting priorities and measurable objectives, monitoring and reporting on the process, progress, and results. 
  • Responds to, solves, and makes decisions on business requests that have broader department impact and/or moderate risk. Presents alternative solutions to business issues by leveraging the broader organization. 
  • Responsible for own work and contributing to team, department and/or business results. May direct work of non-management staff. Typically influences the work of cross-functional or extended teams.
  • Assists more senior associates in achieving business results by:
  • Acting in a consultative fashion to implement programs impacting the broader organization.
  • Assisting in the development and communication of broader organizational goals.
  • Achieving results against budget within the scope of responsibility.
  • Taking calculated risks to move the department or team forward.
  • Developing and using systems to organize and keep track of information.
  • Working with others to identify and remove barriers to success.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Works with Global Technology leadership, and the business to secure funding of projects related to the program, manages key stakeholder expectations.
  • Manages vendor(s) contracts within context of program and project responsibilities, reporting on issues, risks and mitigation plans.
  • Provides status and financial reporting at the program level to executive management, making recommendations relative to risk mitigation, issue resolution, and corrective actions.
  • Follows approval process and approved funding guidelines/gates for new projects and business cases and validates business cases.
  • Develops in collaboration with stakeholders, metrics for program performance and benefits and provides support to financial management on those measurements.
  • Provides project forecasting for assigned projects; this includes consolidation of any 3rd party forecasts and actual spending.
  • Resolves business process conflicts, business integration issues, and resource conflicts recommending mitigating strategies.
  • Ensures project progress to schedule and budget.
  • Works with IT and business leaders to facilitate resource planning and capacity management.
  • Implements change control to manage program scope and costs.


Job Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree in a relevant field with graduate level preferred or equivalent experience and training.
  • PMP Certification is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience with a proven depth and breadth of experience, including multiple successful project management engagements and at least five (5) years leading a Project Management Office. Our ideal candidate will have prior experience using Project Management tools, such as Clarity or Project Server, and working with the Finance department to facilitate month-end-closure.
  • Large Project/Program Management and multi-year enterprise-wide program experience
  • Experience with Resource Planning and Capacity Management, Project Capitalization and Project Accounting, Financial Accountability, and Change Management
  • Agile Project Management Methodology and Waterfall Project Management experience
  • Strong Communication, Negotiation, Leadership, and Presentation Skills
  • ITIL Certification is preferred
