Senior .NET API Support Engineer (Build & Lead Support Function)
📍 Location
Remote (U.S. only)
AZ Time Zone (preferred availability 9-5 AZ time)
💰 Compensation
🧩 Overview
We’re looking for a true Application Support Engineer with strong experience in .NET/API environments who can establish and lead a support function from the ground up.
This is not a typical developer role.
This person will own support operations, define best practices, implement structure, and serve as the first key hire building a support team within an API engineering environment.
🎯 What You’ll Do
• Establish and build a support framework (processes, workflows, documentation)
• Own ticket triage, prioritization, and resolution workflows
• Define and implement support best practices (L1/L2 structure, SLAs, runbooks)
• Work closely with API engineering teams (.NET-based)
• Troubleshoot API issues using tools like Postman, logs, monitoring tools
• Support API gateway environments (Azure APIM, AWS API Gateway, Kong, etc.)
• Create and maintain:
• Runbooks
• Documentation
• Knowledge base articles
• Handle incident management, escalation paths, and root cause analysis
• Help onboard future support engineers and shape team structure
🧠 Required Experience
• ✅ Strong background as a Support Engineer (NOT just dev doing support)
• ✅ Experience working in .NET / API / microservices environments
• ✅ Hands-on experience with:
• Ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred)
• Triage & incident management
• Production support workflows
• ✅ Experience supporting:
• APIs
• Integrations
• Distributed systems
• ✅ Familiarity with:
• Postman or similar tools
• Logging / monitoring systems
• ✅ Experience creating runbooks, SOPs, and support documentation
➕ Nice to Have
• API Gateway experience (Apigee, Kong, AWS, Azure APIM)
• Cloud exposure (AWS or Azure)
• Healthcare industry experience
• Experience helping set up or scale a support team
🚫 What This Role Is NOT
• ❌ Not a pure Software Engineer role
• ❌ Not a DevOps-only role
• ❌ Not for candidates who “occasionally handled support”
👉 We are specifically looking for someone who has owned support as a primary function
🧩 Ideal Candidate Profile
Someone who can say:
“I’ve worked in support, handled tickets daily, built processes, and can set up a support team from scratch in a .NET/API environment.”
📩 Call to Action
If you’ve built or significantly improved a support function and thrive in API-driven environments, we’d like to connect.
