Overview:
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Dentist to join our team. This role involves providing comprehensive dental care and health education to our patients and the community. The Dentist will also assist in overseeing clinic operations, supervise dental staff, and support quality assurance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver all phases of general dentistry with high standards of care
- Handle routine and emergency dental procedures, with referrals to specialists when necessary
- Educate patients and the community about dental health
- Maintain complete and accurate dental records
- Ensure continuity of care and appropriate follow-up
- Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and coding standards
- Assist in dental clinic projects as directed by the Dental Director
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Active Dental License in good standing in California and DEA license
- Graduation from an accredited dental program (DDS or DMD)
- In-depth knowledge of general dentistry standards and updates
- Proficiency in Infection Control and OSHA requirements
- Familiarity with Confidentiality and HIPAA laws
- Understanding of dental laws and ethics
- Ability to relate to diverse communities and provide culturally appropriate education
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with diverse backgrounds
- Skilled in handling multiple administrative tasks efficiently
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and ethical conduct
- Experience with nonprofit health organizations is a plus
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
- Valid California Driver's License, auto insurance, and a clean driving record
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Capacity to lift up to 35 pounds and frequently stoop, squat, or bend
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for dental procedures
- Ability to observe visually and communicate with patients and staff
- Extensive use of computers and telephones
Working Conditions:
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases and pathogens
- Typical working hours are from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with some variability based on business needs
- Must be able to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively with the management team
