The Role

We are seeking a driven and relationship-focused District Sales Manager to lead business development and territory growth across Alberta within the construction equipment and rental equipment industry. This role serves as the primary face to customers in the field, responsible for managing key dealer and rental partner relationships, driving revenue growth, and expanding market penetration across a large, high-impact territory.


The District Sales Manager will manage a portfolio of approximately 300 rental accounts and 50 dealer locations, supporting both dedicated partners and rental dealer channels. This is a high-energy, high-travel role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on sales environment and is comfortable balancing field-based selling with strategic account management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth across all product lines within assigned Alberta territory, focusing on rental dealers, distribution partners, and key accounts
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with rental partners, dealers, and end users in the construction equipment market
  • Act as the primary field representative for the company, ensuring strong customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Manage a portfolio of ~300 rental accounts and ~50 dealer locations across the region
  • Execute regional sales plans in alignment with leadership and contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and territory planning
  • Identify new business opportunities and increase market penetration within the rental and construction equipment sector
  • Provide product training and support to dealer and rental partner teams as needed
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer needs are met and service levels are maintained
  • Utilize CRM and ERP systems (including SAP or similar platforms) for reporting, forecasting, and account management
  • Participate in industry events and trade associations to strengthen market presence and brand awareness
  • Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and territory updates for leadership review


Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an outside sales or field sales role
  • Experience in construction, manufacturing, equipment sales, or rental industry (strong asset)
  • Proven ability to manage large territories and multi-account portfolios
  • Strong communication skills with confidence in both boardroom-level discussions and field-based selling
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term B2B relationships
  • Comfortable with high travel demands (up to 50%, increasing during peak seasons)
  • Tech-savvy with experience using CRM systems and cloud-based tools; SAP or ERP experience considered an asset
  • Self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities across multiple accounts
