Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Remote | Germany

ABOUT US

STRIVE is a specialist recruitment firm offering proactive recruitment solutions across Accounting & Finance, Corporate Administration, Manufacturing Operations, and Technology. We partner with organizations ranging from high-growth scale-ups to Fortune 500 companies, supporting permanent, contract, and temporary recruitment across North America and Europe.

THE ROLE

STRIVE has partnered with a high-growth, global technology organization to appoint a Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for redefining how Finance supports the business - evolving FP&A from a reporting and forecasting function into a strategic partner that helps shape executive decision-making across the organization.

We're looking for a commercially minded finance leader who is naturally curious, thrives on solving complex business problems, and enjoys challenging conventional thinking. You will work alongside the executive leadership team to provide forward-looking insights, influence strategic priorities, and build a modern FP&A function that enables faster, better business decisions.

A key part of this mandate will be leading the evolution of the FP&A function by embedding AI, automation, advanced analytics, and modern planning methodologies to improve forecasting, accelerate decision-making, and enable Finance to spend less time producing reports and more time influencing the future of the business.

This is far more than a traditional FP&A leadership role. This is an opportunity to build something—not simply inherit it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Finance & Executive Partnership

  • Partner directly with the CFO and Executive Leadership Team to influence enterprise strategy and key business decisions.
  • Deliver forward-looking commercial insights that drive growth, profitability, capital allocation, and investment decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions, identify opportunities, and become a trusted thought partner to executive leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives including M&A, investment analysis, and enterprise-wide transformation.

Modernize FP&A

  • Lead the transformation of FP&A into a modern, technology-enabled finance function.
  • Champion AI, automation, Business Intelligence, and advanced analytics to enhance planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision support.
  • Drive the evolution toward rolling forecasts, scenario modelling, and dynamic planning capabilities.
  • Introduce innovative ways of working that improve forecasting accuracy, planning agility, and executive insight.

Business Partnering

  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Corporate Functions.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into actionable business insights.
  • Influence strategic decision-making through commercial analysis and scenario planning.

Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically dispersed FP&A team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Build a scalable, high-performing FP&A function capable of supporting a rapidly growing global business.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in FP&A and strategic finance.
  • Experience operating as a VP or Head of FP&A within a large, complex, multinational organization.
  • Industry experience within Technology, SaaS, Digital, Retail Technology, FMCG, or Media.
  • Demonstrated success leading significant FP&A transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience leveraging AI, automation, Business Intelligence, and modern planning tools to improve financial decision-making.
  • Experience implementing rolling forecasts, driver-based planning, or integrated business planning methodologies.
  • Strong executive business partnering experience with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and challenge thinking constructively.
  • Proven track record leading high-performing finance teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience supporting strategic initiatives including capital allocation, commercial decision-making, and M&A.

Strategic Intelligence

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional strategic intelligence, with the ability to solve complex business problems, influence executive decision-making, challenge conventional thinking, and translate financial data into meaningful commercial insights.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, CPA, CFA and/or CBV designation preferred.
  • Advanced expertise in financial modelling, planning systems, Business Intelligence platforms, and data analytics tools.

WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY?

This is a rare opportunity to redefine what FP&A looks like within a high-growth global technology business.

You'll work alongside an ambitious executive leadership team that values curiosity, innovation, and strategic thinking, while leading the transformation of Finance into a truly modern, insight-driven business partner.

If you're excited by the opportunity to build, influence, and shape the future of FP&A through technology, AI, and strategic leadership, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation & Location

  • Base Salary: €155,000 - $180,000
  • Bonus: 30% Annual Performance Bonus
  • Long-Term Incentive: Equity
  • Location: Fully Remote (Candidates must be based in Germany and have the legal right to work in Germany)
