THE ROLE
STRIVE is currently partnering on an exciting opportunity for an HR Business Partner / HR Advisor with a reputable organization committed to advancing sustainable transportation solutions. Based in Vancouver, you will be one of two HR Business Partners on site, working closely with leaders and employees throughout the employee life cycle — from recruitment and onboarding to performance, compensation, and development. This role also offers the chance to collaborate with international HR colleagues and global managers, providing exposure to a wide range of HR practices and cross-border initiatives. This is a broad, hands-on position where you’ll act as both a trusted advisor and a business partner, while also managing HR processes end-to-end. The role is well-suited to HR professionals ready to step into a Business Partner position, as well as those with established HR advisory experience who want to broaden their scope of impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted HR advisor to leaders and employees, supporting employee relations, performance management, and workplace concerns with discretion and professionalism.
- Build strong partnerships with managers in Vancouver and abroad to align HR initiatives with business goals and support organizational change.
- Deliver and manage core HR programs, including performance reviews, compensation planning, recognition, and employee development initiatives.
- Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, and team structures to strengthen business capability.
- Oversee key points of the employee life cycle such as onboarding, internal moves, and leaves of absence to ensure smooth processes and positive employee experiences.
- Support compensation processes such as annual merit, bonus, and promotion cycles, as well as salary survey participation and related communications.
- Partner with hiring managers to lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate selection, offers, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and generate reports to support HR decision-making.
- Ensure HR records, documentation, and compliance practices meet company standards and external requirements.
- Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, employee engagement, and organizational culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressive HR generalist or advisory experience, ideally within manufacturing, engineering, or STEM-driven organizations.
- Solid knowledge across HR disciplines including compensation, employee relations, performance management, and recruitment.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort working with data, creating reports, and using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., HiBob, Dayforce, ADP Workforce Now).
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with colleagues across global teams.
- CPHR designation (completed or in progress) is an asset.
- Proficiency in Italian (spoken and written) considered a strong advantage.
- Flexibility to work in a hybrid office model (minimum three days per week on site).
