THE ROLE

STRIVE are partnering with a well-established and rapidly growing organization in the facilities services sector to support them with a Senior Accountant. This business provides integrated, end-to-end services across multiple industries including commercial, residential, retail, and hospitality, delivering seamless operational support to its clients. Due to increased workload and ongoing projects, they are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to join their finance team on-site at their Burnaby office.


Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end process, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. This is a fast-paced, collaborative environment requiring someone who can quickly add value.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support month-end close activities across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
  • Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, allocations, and reclassifications
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and perform variance analysis on key accounts
  • Prepare supporting schedules, working papers, and financial reporting documentation
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and assist with identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
  • Assist with accounts payable and expense management activities, including coding and cost allocations
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, and Account Managers to validate billing and financial data
  • Support ERP reporting, data maintenance, and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as directed by finance leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy within the finance function


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • CPA designated or actively pursuing CPA
  • 4+ years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of month-end close and accrual-based accounting
  • Experience in a multi-entity or operationally complex environment preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data manipulation). 
  • Experience with NetSuite is an asset
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
