THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intermediate Accountant to join a dynamic and growing team in Vancouver. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to contribute to a high-performing finance function.


The Intermediate Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager and will play a key part in the financial close process, budgeting and forecasting cycles, and ensuring accurate reporting. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to streamline processes and contribute to continuous improvements across the department.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and maintain reconciliations and schedules for all balance sheet accounts.
  • Play a key role in the month-end close process, including journal entries, variance analysis, and cross-department collaboration.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data through account reconciliations, analysis, and investigation.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Accounting/Finance and other departments.
  • Support ad hoc projects and related duties as required.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation (or working toward completion).
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply accounting principles.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a team-focused mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP) and prior experience with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar preferred).
  • Industry experience in wholesale distribution or retail/fashion considered an asset.
