STRIVE Recruitment is proud to be partnering with one of Canada’s most reputable real estate firms to find a talented Property Accounting Manager for their downtown Vancouver office. The Property Accounting Manager will be joining a forward-thinking organization known for its strong leadership team, collaborative culture, and commitment to professional development.

 

THE ROLE

The client is looking for an experienced Property Accounting Manager who thrives in a leadership role that involves coaching and mentoring others in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

As the Property Accounting Manager, you’ll oversee a portfolio of commercial properties, lead month-end and year-end processes, and play a key role in enhancing systems, controls, and reporting standards. You’ll guide a team of skilled property accountants while supporting continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the firm’s growth and operational excellence.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the full cycle accounting process for a diverse portfolio of commercial real estate assets.
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings with precision and timeliness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of property accountants, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting procedures and implement best practices.
  • Participate in special projects and system enhancements to drive efficiency and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership through financial analysis and reporting.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Progressive experience in accounting or finance within property management, managing commercial properties.
  • Proven experience of being in a leadership role, managing multiple direct reports.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline – CPA would be an asset.
  • Strong technical expertise in Excel and familiarity with property management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a hands-on leadership style that inspires performance and accountability.
