RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and standard operating procedures to define machining methods, dimensional tolerances, operational steps, and equipment setup needs.
  • Set up and operate CNC and EDM machinery independently, ensuring adherence to all quality, precision, and safety standards.
  • Work with 3-axis CNC milling and grinding equipment utilizing Fanuc and Heidenhain control systems.
  • Use precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges to verify part dimensions and tool accuracy.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correct machine faults to maintain efficient and consistent production.
  • Perform daily preventive maintenance checks and continuously monitor machines for signs of wear or malfunction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, quality, and production teams to coordinate work, resolve issues, and improve machining processes.


REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a CNC Machinist, using 3 or 5 axis vertical and horizontal CNC Machines

• Experience operating EDM Machines is an asset

• Certificate of qualification as a General Machinist or Tool and Die Maker is an asset

• Experience with Fanuc and Heidenheimer controls is an asset

• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook and Excel) is required
