THE ROLE
STRIVE is working with a leading provider of industrial storage solutions with sites across Western Canada. A growing company, in search of a Welder for their location in Delta, offering shift times; Tuesday to Friday from 5:45 AM to 4:15 PM (10-hour shifts, 4 days a week). Long weekends every week, having Saturday through Monday off!
The day for a Welder includes lifting, carrying heavy parts, working with tall jigs, and assembling/welding pallet racks.
- Please note this is a temporary position transitioning to permanent, depending on performance after the probationary period of 3 months.
JOB DUTIES:
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Fit, torch-straighten metal
- Operate oxygen arc-cutting equipment
- Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- Prepare jigs or set-ups for welding
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- 5S duties (day-to-day cleaning and tidying)
- Lifting heavy parts for assembly
- Very light gauge steel (14 gauge to 16 gauge)
- GMAW welding with .035 wire
- Production welding (hot and fast)
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 to 3 years of minimum previous welding experience
- Ability to lift 50lbs regularly and stand for long periods of time
- Physically capable of carrying heavy equipment and operating tall jigs
- Flexibility to work in different areas as required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic
- Abiding by health and safety measures
- A strong multitasker coming to work with a positive work attitude
- Personal vehicle preferred
- A strong team player
- CWB Certified is a strong asset
- Forklift certification is a strong asset
COMPENSATION:
- $27 to $30 an hour
