The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for leading and overseeing all regulatory compliance efforts across the organization, ensuring that the company’s advertising technologies, data practices, and operational processes comply with global laws, industry standards, and platform policies. In addition to regulatory compliance, the CCO manages broader risk, governance, privacy, ethics, and trust functions to support a responsible and sustainable business.


Responsibilities:

  • Own company-wide compliance strategy across GDPR, ePrivacy, CCPA/CPRA, GPP and global data protection frameworks.
  • Implement and monitor consent management, data minimization, retention, and deletion processes.
  • Build the company’s first compliance framework, policies, and internal controls.
  • Develop, implement, and update internal compliance policies, controls, and training programs.
  • Oversee IAB TCF, GPP, AdChoices, and other industry self-regulation programs.
  • Ensure the company meets standards from ad tech frameworks such as IAB standards and others.
  • Develop and enforce internal policies including: Data handling and retention policies, incident response and breach notification procedures, employee privacy and compliance training, and secure development and access control policies
  • Conduct periodic audits and compliance reviews across departments.
  • Serve as a primary contact for regulatory bodies during audits or investigations, coordinating responses to data subject requests, regulator inquiries, and complaints.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory trends and implement proactive adjustments.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance standards for advertising creatives and traffic sources.
  • Collaborate closely with industry experts to establish, implement, and maintain guidelines that prevent misleading content and ensure all ad materials and traffic channels meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organization requirements.
  • Implement IVT governance: IVT scanning strategies & invalid traffic controls.
  • Ensure business continuity & disaster recovery compliance
  • Maintain documentation demonstrating compliance for external audits.
  • Represent the company in ad tech industry groups and privacy working committees.
  • Support HR in compliance-related matters, including employee onboarding, training, disciplinary protocols, and policy documentation
  • Consolidate policies (privacy, acceptable use, data handling, BYOD, remote work) into clear, standardized guidance for employees.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in compliance, privacy, legal, or ad tech governance roles (preferably in ad tech, search syndication, or high-risk ad tech operations preferred)
  • Certifications (CIPP, CIPM, CRISC, CCEP) preferred.
  • Experience managing large-scale traffic networks
  • Preferred, Google policy enforcement
