We are seeking a Senior Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ceph Storage Administration Consultant to provide expert consulting services supporting enterprise-scale Red Hat Ceph Storage environments. In this role, you will lead the design, deployment, administration, optimization, and troubleshooting of highly available, software-defined storage solutions built on Red Hat Ceph Storage.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on consultant with deep experience implementing and managing Ceph clusters in production environments. You will work closely with customer stakeholders to architect scalable storage platforms, perform health assessments, resolve complex issues, and provide best practices for performance, resiliency, and operational excellence.

This is a remote contract position totaling approximately 779 hours, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and administer Red Hat Ceph Storage clusters.
• Perform installation, expansion, upgrades, and lifecycle management of Ceph environments.
• Monitor cluster health, performance, capacity, and availability while proactively identifying optimization opportunities.
• Troubleshoot complex storage, networking, and performance issues across distributed Ceph environments.
• Configure and manage Ceph components including OSDs, MONs, MGRs, RGWs, MDS, and CephFS.
• Develop and implement best practices for storage architecture, replication, disaster recovery, and data protection.
• Perform storage capacity planning and recommend improvements for scalability and resilience.
• Collaborate with customer infrastructure, Linux, virtualization, and Kubernetes/OpenShift teams to integrate Ceph into enterprise environments.
• Create technical documentation, implementation guides, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery while mentoring customer administrators when needed.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive experience administering Red Hat Ceph Storage in enterprise production environments.
• Strong knowledge of software-defined storage concepts and distributed storage architectures.
• Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting highly available Ceph clusters.
• Strong Linux system administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Experience with storage technologies including block, object, and file storage.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts related to distributed storage environments.
• Experience performing upgrades, migrations, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure and storage issues independently.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and customer-facing consulting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ceph Storage Administration certification.
• Experience integrating Ceph with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with automation using Ansible or Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Familiarity with virtualization platforms and cloud-native storage architectures.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments.
• Additional Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or other Red Hat Specialist certifications) are a plus.
