General Summary

Mount Indie is seeking a Senior Consultant with strong experience in Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to support a customer engagement in Merritt Island, FL. This is a hybrid consulting opportunity totaling approximately 1,040 hours, with significant onsite support expected.The engagement includes travel budgeted for up to 56 weeks. The anticipated approach involves an architect onsite for the initial 1–2 weeks, followed by ongoing onsite support from a Senior Consultant. The specific onsite schedule and responsibilities will be coordinated with the architect and customer.Candidates with familiarity with IBM AIX and the ability to translate AIX functionality to comparable RHEL features are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and manage Red Hat Satellite to support enterprise RHEL environments.
• Support RHEL system administration, provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management using Red Hat Satellite.
• Configure and maintain Satellite capabilities, including content management, repositories, host management, and system updates.
• Troubleshoot issues related to Red Hat Satellite, RHEL systems, and infrastructure configurations.
• Collaborate with the customer and technical architect to implement solutions and support ongoing infrastructure needs.
• Assist with identifying and explaining comparable functionality between IBM AIX and RHEL environments.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations for RHEL administration, management, and operational best practices.
• Support onsite implementation activities and provide ongoing technical assistance throughout the engagement.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience with Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and administering Red Hat Satellite in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of RHEL system administration, patch management, provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Experience troubleshooting Linux infrastructure and system management issues.
• Familiarity with IBM AIX features and functionality, with the ability to explain comparable capabilities within RHEL, preferred.
• Experience supporting enterprise Linux infrastructure implementations or modernization initiatives.
• Strong communication and customer-facing consulting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical architects and customer teams.
• Ability to support a hybrid engagement with significant onsite requirements in Merritt Island, FL.
