Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Application Deployment / Release Engineer to join an existing project and support the onboarding and deployment of applications onto Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4. This role will focus heavily on application onboarding, release engineering, and the development and execution of deployment processes within a CI/CD and DevOps environment. This is a fully remote role, approximately 400 hours (~10 weeks) with potential for extension.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting application deployments in OpenShift and a strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and GitOps practices. This position will work closely with development and platform teams to ensure applications can be efficiently onboarded, deployed, and managed within the existing OpenShift environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the onboarding of applications onto an existing Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4 environment.
• Develop and maintain application deployment and release processes.
• Support release engineering activities across application development and deployment lifecycles.
• Build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployments.
• Implement and support DevOps and GitOps practices for application delivery.
• Work with development teams to troubleshoot deployment issues and improve application onboarding processes.
• Define and maintain deployment configurations, manifests, and automation.
• Help standardize application deployment processes and ensure consistency across environments.
• Collaborate with platform, engineering, and development teams to resolve technical issues and improve deployment efficiency.
• Support ongoing enhancements to the existing project and application deployment environment.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and located within the continental United States.
• Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.
• Strong release engineering experience with a focus on application deployment and onboarding.
• Experience onboarding and deploying applications into OpenShift environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with GitOps methodologies and tools.
• Experience working with Git-based source control and deployment workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot application deployment and pipeline issues in a complex enterprise environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in an existing OpenShift production environment.
• Experience automating application deployment and release processes.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-native application deployment practices.
• Experience with tools commonly used for CI/CD and GitOps in OpenShift environments.
• Red Hat OpenShift or related certifications.
