General Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ansible for RHEL Senior Consultant to support a long-term engagement focused on automation within a mainframe environment. This role is fully remote and expected to be approximately 1,600 hours in duration. The consultant will lead Ansible-based automation efforts while mentoring and training a mainframe-focused team, bridging modern automation practices with traditional mainframe technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement Ansible automation solutions within RHEL and mainframe environments
- Lead automation initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and operational reliability
- Mentor and train a mainframe operations team on Ansible usage, best practices, and automation concepts
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate manual mainframe processes into automated workflows
- Support and automate processes related to LPARs, storage, and other core mainframe components
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation and integration issues across environments
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, playbooks, and automation standards
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Ansible, including playbook development and automation design
- Solid experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments
- Working knowledge of mainframe technologies, including LPARs, storage, and related infrastructure components
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, train, and upskill technical teams
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
