Senior Strategic Liaison - Bomber Programs
San Diego, CA
Apply for this job

About this role:

This is with a fast-moving secure BLOS (beyond-line-of-sight) communications company seeking an experienced veteran who combines operational Air Force bomber experience (preferably former bomber aircrew) with inside knowledge of acquisition/requirements/program offices. This person will open doors to decision makers, translate warfighter needs into credible programmatic proposals, and shepherd initial technical integrations to demonstration—establishing trust and partnerships that accelerate adoption of our capability. This is a part-time role, initially estimated around 250 hours annually.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the company’s primary internal/external subject matter lead for all US bomber platforms and missions (B-52/B-1/B-2 family of missions, tactics, architectures).
  • Translate operational capability gaps into Fuse products and capabilities and feed those to engineering for rapid prototypes/demos.
  • Build and maintain relationships with acquisition program offices, requirements offices, operational command staff, test centers, and warfighter SMEs to secure briefings, demo opportunities, and integrated trials.
  • Consult on programmatic engagement plans (pilot demos, DT/OT support, planning conferences, mission trials) to validate our BLOS products on bomber platforms.
  • Advise on acquisition strategies (other transaction authority, FMS, COTS + integration paths) and help draft acquisition-friendly materials (OV-1/OV-2 style briefs, demos, test plans).

We are looking for:

  • Military bomber experience: aircrew experience on a US bomber (preferred) or 5+ years working inside bomber program/requirements offices with deep mission knowledge.
  • Deep familiarity with bomber mission sets, avionics/communications architectures, installation constraints (power, EMI, weight, form factor), and typical aircraft change control processes.
  • Track record of high-level stakeholder engagement — program offices, requirements authorities, operational commanders, test centers.
  • Strong understanding of DoD acquisition lifecycle and how industry gets fielding opportunities (demo/OT, test, milestones).
  • Active or prior U.S. government security clearance (Secret minimum; TS/SCI preferred) — or the ability to obtain one quickly.
