Senior Network Engineer

Mount Indie is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer with experience managing all areas of secure network technologies onsite in a dynamic operational IT environment, including maintenance, provisioning, and deployment functions. You will lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, and manage the overall network infrastructure.


What you’ll do:

  • You will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. Working closely with senior management to align network initiatives with customer objectives, developing long-term strategies, and executing those plans.
  • You will lead network-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project scope.
  • You will work with our Operations and Engineering team, which consists of other network, systems, mobile, VDI, and other engineers to manage our customer’s environment.
  • You will identify and resolve network issues, and proactively optimize network performance. Ensuring that all network configurations, procedures, and practices comply with industry standards and are well documented.
  • You will work together with our clients to solve mission-critical problems, by refreshing hardware, updating systems, monitoring networks, and providing engineering solutions for our client’s unique requests.
  • You will work with Cisco switch, router, and firewall infrastructure and technologies.
  • You will be part of the Operations and Engineering team that responds to after-hours and weekend requests and critical outages if our Tiered Help Desk team cannot solve them.


What you’ll need to succeed:

  • 10+ years of experience managing the provisioning, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/WAN systems, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience working with Cisco equipment and data center devices (switches, routers, firewalls, and intrusion detection or prevention technologies) and configuration of IOS upgrades using the command line interface (CLI).
  • Proficiency in network communications standards and concepts, including:
  • Physical layer media (copper, fiber, and media converters)
  • Ethernet (switching, spanning-tree, media access control (MAC) addressing)
  • TCP/IP (UDP vs TCP, subnetting, DHCP, gateway, access-control lists)
  • Higher-level protocols (DNS, IPSec, HTTP).
  • 3+ years of experience with designing and architecting IP networks.
  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting layer 2 network problems including port-security related problems.
  • 3+ years of experience working with, analyzing, and troubleshooting VoIP systems, IP Protocols (SIP, H.323, etc.), and Cisco unified communications solutions.
  • Experience with network security and cross-functional security related to Voice Infrastructure.
  • Experience working in a secure federal environment.
  • An active Top Secret clearance, with SCI eligibility.
