POSITION SUMMARY

Mount Indie is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Environmental Project Manager to support our federal clients. This role works directly with existing staff to ensure high-quality, successful planning, execution, and completion of projects within financial and schedule expectations, reporting to Program Managers on all aspects of project delivery, including planning, field investigation and remediation management, reporting, client interfacing, and financial tracking. The role requires deep, hands-on technical experience and the ability to independently identify and address technical deficiencies of CERCLA investigation and remediation work.

This position is based in Northville, MI; Atlanta, GA; Knoxville, TN; or San Antonio, TX.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support client management and development through excellent project delivery, tracking and managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Perform assigned work in accordance with project schedules, plans, and budgets.
• Review technical documents for technical approach, implementability, regulatory compliance, and ability to meet project objectives.
• Develop project plans for clients, such as Five Year Reviews, Remedial Process Optimization Reports, and Sampling and Analysis Plans.
• Critically review contractor work performance in the field and office to identify technical deficiencies and recommend corrective action.
• Provide site investigation support throughout the CERCLA process, including preliminary assessments, site inspections, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial designs, remedial action completion reports, EE/CAs, and TCRAs/NTCRAs.
• Train and/or supervise staff in field sampling activities, drilling methodologies, specialized investigation methods, and PFAS sampling, characterization, and remediation.
• Support proposal development with technical, Proposal Management, and Business Development staff.
• Lead, mentor, and train junior- and mid-level staff.
• Travel up to 30% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with DoD environmental programs, including the Defense Environmental Restoration Program, and familiarity with DoD/AF policies and procedures.
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while meeting client expectations and financial/schedule metrics.
• Experience managing multi-media investigations involving soil, sediment, surface water, pore water, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air.
• Familiarity with drilling methods including direct-push technology, hollow-stem auger, sonic, rock coring, and air/mud rotary.
• Experience with contaminants including metals, VOCs, SVOCs, PAHs, and PFAS.
• Experience with RCRA and CERCLA environmental restoration activities.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, including experience preparing meeting minutes and presenting to regulatory and public stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Geology, or a related science required.
• 10-20 years of experience as an environmental professional, with at least the last 5 years in consulting.
• Previous project management experience with federal clients required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required; GIT/PG or EIT/PE preferred; OSHA Supervisor Training and OSHA 30-Hour Construction/General Industry Training preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch, and remain in a stationary position at least 60% of the time.
• Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, and phone.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to travel to meet clients, attend conferences, and conduct site visits.
• This role is fully on-site, based out of the Northville, MI, San Antonio, TX, Atlanta, GA, or Knoxville, TN office when not traveling.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions, and occasionally navigating rough terrain or operating at heights.
• Required to wear PPE as necessary, typically including gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots; may encounter hazards or contaminants during work tasks.

SALARY RANGE

• 110,000 - 130,000 / Year
