System Test Engineer

We are seeking a new Systems Test Engineer! Our fast-paced Product Test Engineering team crafts test solutions for vertically integrated products and services. You will test and support encrypted communications systems including Layer 2 and Layer 3 In-line Network Encryptors and embedded cryptographic devices. Projects support lab design verification, integration, characterization, and factory production testing.


Responsibilities:

  • Gain a deep understanding of products requiring testing, including specifications, designs, components, and functionality.
  • Collaborate with product design teams and build strong relationships to influence hardware and software designs that support robust and efficient testing solutions.
  • Work with product design, quality, and operations teams to develop and maintain Systems Engineering documentation for product testing, including Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM), Test Requirements Database, and Verification and Validation planning and execution.
  • Lead Test Process System Requirements Reviews (SRR) and Design Reviews (PDR/CDR).
  • Prepare Test Plans and Procedures to guide the development and build of custom test hardware and automation using company and industry standards.
  • Shepherd test system deployment from hardware/software integration through design verification and into full-rate production. Train partners globally on system use.
  • Champion feedback from key stakeholders to improve product designs, deployed test systems, and test processes.
  • Prepare engineering trade studies and apply problem-solving skills to support decision-making amid uncertainty, risks, and opportunities.
  • Present creative ideas, informative status updates, thoughtful trade-offs, constructive reviews, and improved process implementations to Program Management and Leadership.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven experience developing testable products and supporting them across the product lifecycle, including new development and sustainment of manual to fully automated production test systems.
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Solid understanding of both technical and process aspects of product design, with the ability to evaluate products using design and functional documentation.
  • Domain expertise influencing teams to apply design-for-test (DFT) strategies, methods, and tools to validate product function, performance, and reliability.
  • Experience developing test requirements, test plans, test cases, methodologies, and manufacturing test documentation that guide system development.
  • Experience improving technical design documentation (specifications, schematics, wire lists) through redlining and collaboration with designers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend industry-standard programming languages to collaborate effectively with software automation engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and boundary scan tools for system evaluation and troubleshooting.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Up to 10% travel required.
