Summary

We are seeking an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 (RHEL 10) Consultant to provide expert-level consulting, optimization, and operational support for enterprise Linux environments. This is a 500-hour remote consulting engagement with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance. The consultant will serve as a trusted technical advisor, helping to improve system performance, optimize operating system configurations, and provide strategic guidance for enterprise infrastructure initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and enterprise operating system architecture.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert administration and consulting for enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, with a focus on RHEL 10.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex operating system performance issues and infrastructure bottlenecks.
• Analyze system performance and implement tuning recommendations to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Optimize Linux systems for modern hardware platforms and evolving processor architectures.
• Deliver strategic guidance on Linux operating system design, lifecycle planning, upgrades, and best practices.
• Serve as a technical advisor for enterprise Linux initiatives, helping drive operational excellence and long-term platform stability.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and engineering teams to recommend and implement OS improvements.
• Develop documentation, standards, and operational recommendations to support ongoing platform management.
• Provide knowledge transfer and technical mentorship to customer teams when appropriate.

Requirements

• Extensive experience administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise with RHEL 10 or recent RHEL releases and upgrade strategies.
• Proven experience troubleshooting complex Linux performance, stability, and system-level issues.
• Experience with operating system performance tuning, kernel optimization, and resource utilization analysis.
• Knowledge of modern server hardware, CPU architectures, and OS optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of Linux networking, storage, security, and system services.
• Experience providing technical consulting and strategic infrastructure recommendations.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote consulting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE.
• Experience supporting mission-critical enterprise Linux environments.
• Familiarity with virtualization, automation, and container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Experience developing enterprise Linux standards, architecture, or operational best practices.
