Role Overview
The Forescout Cybersecurity Engineer supports the deployment, configuration, and daily maintenance of ForeScout CounterACT appliances across a multi-domain enterprise environment. The role combines systems administration, network engineering, and cybersecurity operations to deliver continuous network visibility, access control, and compliance. The engineer works both independently and as part of a team, provides Tier II operations and maintenance support, and integrates endpoint and network security data with enterprise analysis tools such as Splunk.
Key Responsibilities
• Deploy, configure, and maintain ForeScout CounterACT appliances in a multi-domain customer environment
• Perform Windows and/or Linux systems administration, including troubleshooting, installation and configuration, performance and availability monitoring, and security upgrades
• Support network engineering tasks such as port installation and activation, switch configuration, and LAN, VLAN, and network firewall setup
• Administer network services including Active Directory, guest LANs, and domain management
• Integrate cybersecurity data using enterprise and custom data aggregation and analysis tools, including Splunk
• Provide Tier II IT operations and maintenance support, including ticket updates, issue response, and remediation
• Apply federal information security policies, standards, and risk management processes across enterprise systems
Basic Qualifications
• 3+ years performing systems administration for Windows or Linux, including basic troubleshooting, installation and configuration, monitoring system performance and availability, and performing security upgrades
• Experience with the deployment or daily maintenance of ForeScout CounterACT appliances
• Experience with network engineering (physical or logical) — such as installation and activation of ports, configuration of switches, and LANs, VLANs, and network firewalls — or network administration services such as Active Directory, guest LANs, and domain management
• Knowledge of multi-domain architectures, including data center, WAN, and LAN in virtualized architectures
• Education and experience: HS diploma/GED + 7 yrs, Associate's + 5 yrs, Bachelor's + 3 yrs, or Master's + 1 yr supporting IT projects and activities
• TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a counterintelligence polygraph
Required Certifications
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification — such as SecurityX (formerly CASP+), CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCSP — within 30 days of start date
• Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 Cybersecurity Service Provider – Infrastructure Support (CSSP-IS) certification — such as CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CND — prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications
• ForeScout Certified Administrator (FSCA) and/or ForeScout Certified Engineer (FSCE) certification
• Knowledge of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, and frameworks, and of federal security authorization, assessment, and risk management processes for enterprise systems
• Ability to install and deploy ForeScout in a multi-domain customer environment
• Ability to integrate cybersecurity data using enterprise or custom data aggregation and analysis tools, including Splunk
• Ability to provide Tier II IT operations and maintenance support, including ticket updates, issue response, and remediation
• Self-starter able to work with minimal direction and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including coordinating efforts and establishing customer relations
