Position Summary
We are seeking a Logistics Specialist II to support logistics operations involving the preparation, coordination, and tracking of materials, equipment, and documentation. This role is responsible for managing shipping activities, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring proper allocation and storage of equipment, spare parts, tools, and technical manuals.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting inventory management and logistics operations in a regulated environment, with a strong understanding of supply chain processes and shipping compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and related manuals.
- Coordinate shipping and transportation activities in compliance with state, federal, and international regulations, including import/export requirements.
- Route, document, and track shipments using established logistics systems and shipping databases.
- Maintain accurate records for equipment, components, repair parts, and associated technical documentation.
- Track logistics materials and parts to ensure proper allocation within storage facilities.
- Support inventory management activities and maintain inventory database records.
- Assist with receiving, storing, and issuing materials and equipment.
- Ensure logistics processes follow safety protocols, especially when handling hazardous or regulated materials.
- Operate logistics equipment and assist with inspections of materials, equipment, or vehicles when required.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant logistics, supply chain, or inventory experience.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and supply chain/logistics principles.
- Experience working with inventory or logistics databases.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work in environments that may include warehouses, outdoor areas, and exposure to varying noise levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AvPro or similar aviation maintenance tracking systems.
- HazMat training or certification.
- Experience operating a forklift.
- Experience using shipping platforms such as FedEx, DHL, or UPS systems.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Understanding of shelf-life controlled inventory.
- Background supporting Aerospace & Defense, Department of Defense, or U.S. Military logistics programs.
