Mount Indie is seeking Software Systems Engineers with strong foundations in requirements engineering, MBSE, and verification & validation (V&V) to support the development of advanced software-driven systems.


This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in structured environments and enjoy bridging the gap between system architecture, software implementation, and test validation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform requirements development and decomposition from system to software level
  • Establish and maintain bi-directional traceability across system, software, and test artifacts
  • Develop and manage system models using CAMEO (MBSE)
  • Define and support Verification & Validation (V&V) strategies and test planning
  • Support development of system and subsystem test methodologies
  • Ensure alignment between requirements, architecture, and implementation
  • Support major design reviews (SRR/SFR, PDR, CDR) with high-quality artifacts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (software, hardware, integration)
  • Support configuration management and change control processes


Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering for software-intensive systems
  • Experience with:
  • Requirements decomposition and management
  • Requirements traceability tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.)
  • Verification & Validation (V&V) processes
  • CAMEO or similar MBSE tools
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing MBSE in production environments
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid development methodologies
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or large-scale systems
  • Knowledge of system integration and interface control
  • Advanced degree in a technical field
