Contract: 900 hours with potential for extension

We are looking for an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (CNV) Senior Consultant to support a customer environment in Charleston, SC. This role will focus on the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of OpenShift Virtualization, helping the customer build and operate a reliable virtualization environment within their OpenShift platform.

The engagement will require a strong onsite presence during the initial phase. For the first couple of months, the consultant will travel onsite week over week. Once the environment is established, the schedule is expected to transition to a 1 week onsite / 1 week off rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level consulting and technical expertise around Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (CNV)
• Support the deployment, configuration, and administration of OpenShift Virtualization environments
• Configure and manage virtual machines running within OpenShift
• Troubleshoot virtualization, networking, storage, and platform-related issues
• Assist with integrating virtualization workloads into existing OpenShift environments
• Apply best practices for VM lifecycle management, performance, availability, and scalability
• Work directly with customer technical teams to assess requirements and implement solutions
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and documentation
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across the OpenShift and virtualization stack

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift
• Significant experience with OpenShift Virtualization (CNV)
• Experience deploying and managing virtual machines within OpenShift
• Understanding of Kubernetes/OpenShift architecture and administration
• Experience troubleshooting OpenShift virtualization environments
• Strong understanding of virtualization concepts, networking, and storage
• Ability to work directly with customers in a consulting capacity
• Willingness and ability to travel to Charleston, SC on the required schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or related OpenShift certifications
• Experience migrating workloads from traditional virtualization platforms into OpenShift Virtualization
• Experience with VMware or other enterprise virtualization platforms
• Experience with OpenShift storage and networking
• Experience with automation and scripting in Linux/OpenShift environments
• Prior experience supporting enterprise or government environments

Travel Expectations

This position requires significant onsite travel to Charleston, SC.

• First couple of months: Week-over-week onsite travel
• After initial deployment: 1 week onsite / 1 week off rotation
• Travel and expenses are billable (T&E)
