General Summary

We are seeking an experienced RH OpenShift on VMware Senior Consultant to support a large-scale enterprise environment operating in a 24x7 follow-the-sun model. This role is fully remote, aligned to the UK timezone, and will support approximately 1,320 hours of work.

The consultant will play a key role in managing, migrating, and optimizing OpenShift environments running on VMware infrastructure. This position requires close coordination across global teams, with structured handoffs and ongoing operational support.

Preference will be given to Red Hat employees, followed by Premier Partners or highly vetted consultants with strong OpenShift and virtualization experience.

Responsibilities

• Administer, deploy, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in on-premise environments
• Support and execute migration of VM workloads from VMware vSphere or Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) to OpenShift Virtualization
• Utilize tools such as Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) to enable seamless workload transitions
• Automate infrastructure and migration processes using Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and/or Python
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing mentorship and guidance to customer teams on best practices and Day-2 operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across networking, storage, and application integration layers
• Collaborate within a follow-the-sun support model, ensuring smooth handoffs and consistent service delivery across global teams

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift, including OpenShift Virtualization
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes, containers, and Linux/Windows environments
• Proven experience working with VMware environments and migration workflows
• Familiarity with Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV)
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and/or scripting with Python
• Solid knowledge of networking and storage concepts in containerized and virtualized environments
• Strong consulting and client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
• Experience working in enterprise, 24x7, or global delivery environments preferred
