Mount Indie is seeking an Installation Lead – INS2 to support the physical installation, integration, and troubleshooting of the OMNIS system aboard U.S. Navy ships. This role is central to the operationalization of AI-enabled capabilities and requires hands-on coordination with shipboard crews, contractors, systems engineers, and program leadership. The Installation Lead will plan, lead, and execute shipboard installation events worldwide, ensuring successful deployment of OMNIS across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, plan, and conduct physical installations of the OMNIS system aboard Navy ships.
- Lead a team of contractors during shipboard integration, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.
- Serve as the on-site technical expert for OMNIS installation events, ensuring compliance with engineering and safety standards.
- Interface with shipboard networks, Aegis Weapon System components, and other combat system elements to support successful integration.
- Perform system verification, functionality checks, and post-installation validation in collaboration with ship’s force and government representatives.
- Document installation procedures, produce after-action reports, and provide feedback to engineering and test teams.
- Coordinate closely with NAVWAR, and NIWC Pacific engineering personnel to ensure installation readiness and successful execution.
- Travel extensively—including international locations and underway periods—to support fleet installation schedules.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Technical experience with shipboard networks and the Aegis Weapon System.
- Strong systems engineering experience and the ability to understand and contribute to System-of-Systems architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams of contractors through shipboard integration, installation, and troubleshooting.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently and participate in underway periods as required.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Navy installation processes, Ship Alteration (SHIPALT) procedures, or configuration management.
- Previous work with NAVWAR / NIWC Pacific, fleet introduction teams, or C5ISR installation crews.
- Experience with OMNIS, NOA, or AI-enabled naval capabilities.
- Familiarity with shipboard cabling, rack installation, power/data routing, and system verification processes.
- Prior international deployment or shipboard installation experience.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems).
- Additional technical certifications (e.g., Security+, Network+, systems engineering credentials) are a plus if required by contract.

Location:
- Primary work location in San Diego, supporting the OT4/CTB Lab.
- Significant travel to various CONUS and OCONUS locations—including international sites and shipboard underway periods—is required.

- Up to 75%, including CONUS and OCONUS travel, shipboard underway periods, and extended installation events.
