Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist II to support the coordination, documentation, and execution of logistics operations across a dynamic environment. This role is responsible for managing inventory records, coordinating shipping activities, and ensuring compliance with all applicable state, federal, and international regulations.The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in inventory control, shipping logistics, and supply chain operations—preferably within aerospace, defense, or government environments.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and technical manuals
  • Coordinate and execute shipping activities in compliance with domestic and international regulations, including import/export requirements
  • Track, manage, and maintain records of equipment, components, repair parts, and associated documentation
  • Monitor inventory levels and support proper allocation and storage of materials across facilities
  • Utilize inventory and shipping databases to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Support handling, inspection, and transportation of hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Assist with logistics planning and coordination to support operational and program needs
  • Operate or support operation of equipment and machinery, including forklifts (if certified)


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant logistics, inventory, or supply chain experience
  • (Higher education may substitute for experience)
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles
  • Experience with inventory databases or tracking systems


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with aviation maintenance tracking systems (e.g., AvPro or similar)
  • HazMat certification or training
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Familiarity with shipping systems such as FedEx, DHL, or UPS
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
  • Understanding of shelf-life management for materials
  • Background supporting Aerospace & Defense, Department of Defense, or military logistics operations


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and varying temperatures
  • May be exposed to loud environments or hazardous materials in controlled settings

This position is designated as safety-sensitive and may involve:

  • Handling or transporting hazardous or explosive materials
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or vehicles
  • Supporting aviation-related operations
  • Operating or supervising heavy or specialized equipment
