Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist II to support the coordination, documentation, and execution of logistics operations across a dynamic environment. This role is responsible for managing inventory records, coordinating shipping activities, and ensuring compliance with all applicable state, federal, and international regulations.The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in inventory control, shipping logistics, and supply chain operations—preferably within aerospace, defense, or government environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain logistics documentation for spares, tools, test equipment, materials, and technical manuals
- Coordinate and execute shipping activities in compliance with domestic and international regulations, including import/export requirements
- Track, manage, and maintain records of equipment, components, repair parts, and associated documentation
- Monitor inventory levels and support proper allocation and storage of materials across facilities
- Utilize inventory and shipping databases to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
- Support handling, inspection, and transportation of hazardous materials in accordance with safety guidelines
- Assist with logistics planning and coordination to support operational and program needs
- Operate or support operation of equipment and machinery, including forklifts (if certified)
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant logistics, inventory, or supply chain experience
- (Higher education may substitute for experience)
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Working knowledge of inventory management and supply chain principles
- Experience with inventory databases or tracking systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aviation maintenance tracking systems (e.g., AvPro or similar)
- HazMat certification or training
- Forklift operation experience
- Familiarity with shipping systems such as FedEx, DHL, or UPS
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Understanding of shelf-life management for materials
- Background supporting Aerospace & Defense, Department of Defense, or military logistics operations
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly
- Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and varying temperatures
- May be exposed to loud environments or hazardous materials in controlled settings
